Sami Hasselberg’s neighbourhood is where Stavanger’s shittiest area meets the hipster’s wet dreams of foodie destinations, micro-breweries and new rich luxury apartments: gentrification in a nutshell. And then there is the grain silo. Once it served as the nation’s emergency stockpile. But now it is just there, staring at Sami while he is wondering about the housing marked and why people are going to the beach although there is no beach. At least, the silo is watching his house when he is not at home.
Photographs and drawings by Sami Hasselberg. Riso printed in green and metallic gold.
